Vranjaš Spring

The Vranjaš spring is mentioned as early as the second century b.c. The water (aqueduct) was supplied to Sremska Mitrovica, or then known as Sirmium, as one of the four capitals of the Roman Empire. The spring was a place of gathering of religious believers throughout history. It's dedicated to saints Kuzma and Damjan, which is undoubtedly shown by the mosaics above the water. There's a church above it, and it's part of the youngest monastery on Fruška Gora that's dedicated to Sveti Vasilije Ostroški. During the harshest droughts the water flows unrelentingly, cool and refreshing. Around the monastery and spring is a picnic area with a thick shade where you can take a break in a serene and calm atmosphere with the sounds of water flowing nearby. the spring is located on the Manđelos-Grgurevci road.
